Funeral services have been planned for a news helicopter pilot that was killed in a tragic crash last Tuesday.
Funeral services for Chris Dougherty, will be held Thursday morning.
Dougherty and pilot 67-year-old Monroe Smith both employees at ABC affiliate WPVI, died after their helicopter, a Eurocopter AS35OB2, contracted out by U.S. Helicopters Inc., crashed in the Wharton State Forest in Burlington County, NJ.
This crash happened, while they were headed to the North Philidelphia Airport, as they were returning from an assignment on the Jersey Shore.
A fundraiser has been made in his honor to pay for his daughter's education, already raising over $20,000.
Now, the NTSB says that their investigation determined that the helicopter went down at a high rate of speed, and a final report on the crash is expected within the next 18 months.
